Rating: - It does what it says on the tin.
I have bought this DVD Player to only play R1 DVDs as my DVD/VCR combi does not play them. For the price, it has an excellent picture quality. The small size is a plus as I am slowly running out of space.
I am very pleased with it and I would recommend it to anyone who want a no frills easy to use DVD player.

Great dvd player for an excellent price. This is multi region capable; this means after you have changed the region code it's able to play any region of dvd. I don't understand some of the people who have gave this product a bad review.... its great!

Rating: - Kalpesh's advice does work!
Only just got the Philips today but so far so good! Mega easy to install. I just want to say to those experiencing trouble making it multi-regional that I got there after only a few attempts. Kalpesh's instructions are correct. It's just not clear that when you get to 'Preferences' there is no on-screen prompt to change the regional code. There isn't a sub-heading for it either. You literally just need to type in the code (you won't see anything appear on screen) and then a region code prompt comes up, which you need to change. It worked straight away for me once I figured it out. Now playing US DVDs nicely!

experienced same problem as the guy below. followed Kalpesh instructions and no options given to change region once code has been entered - the thing just goes back to beginning.very disappointing, especially given the fact that i bought a few american dvd's in anticipation.
