Rating: - Utterly useless piece of equipment
First of all the order was not delivered by the promised date. When I enquired, I was told not to worry and a replacement order was sent. When I used the replacement dvd player for the first time, there were a few problems - the player did not read some of the files that were burnt on the dvd. next, the player started to play the readable files in an endless fast forward loop! on complaining, I was told to send it back as defective and another replacement has been sent. I will try it out for the last time tonight - if it works well and good, otherwise I will never go for this player again.

Rating: - Cheap, nasty and did not work!
I bought this in good faith after reading the other reviews but totally stick by the 'you get what you pay for' ethos. Except, I paid for something that didn't work! It wouldn't spin the discs up and just showed the message 'loading' then 'bad disc'. I'll be steering clear of Alba in future!

Rating: - IGNORE WHAT THE MANUAL SAYS- THIS IS MULTI-REGIONAL
I bought this as a replacement for my previous multi-regional DVD player + this is brilliant !!! The manual and label on the unit both state that this is region 2 only. IGNORE THEM. The first disc I played was region 1 and I had more disc features on this than on my old player. I would recommend this to ANYONE. It is a superb small lightweight unit which, as other reviewers have said is best connected through a scart lead rather than the r/y/w phono plugs. All I can add is ENJOY YOUR NON REGION 2 MOVIES !!

Rating: - really good dvd player
After reading the reviews on here i was aprenhensive about this dvd player - but have been more than satisfied - it is excellent and well worth the money.
