BRASSO!
Can I give potential purchasers a bit of advice? All this device does is to gently wear away the top surface of the CD/DVD so the scratches are either reduced or worn away, making the disc playable. This process however will not leave the surface shiny and you will have mutiple minor marks. This does work and will make a disc playable, as long as it's not too deeply marked.
BUT - here's the advice. By a tin of Brasso (which is also a mild abrasive) and clean your surfaces with that. You may need to use a bit of 'elbow grease' and it will leave faint marks, but the discs will play. Try it on something not to precious first, then you will see and gain confidence. I buy most of my CD's from eBay and a lot skip, 2/3 minutes with the Brasso and hey presto - they play perfectly. A tin of Brasso costs £1.26 and lasts for ages.....
Rating: - It fixed an unplayable game disk
Hmmm....think carefully before you buy this. To be fair, my own experience is that it has fixed a major error on one of my favourite game discs, which meant I could never get beyond a certain point. In that respect it's been a great purchase, but overall I get the feeling it's down to luck more than anything else, particularly as one has to exert quite a lot of force during the process - creating the worry that the disc will be forever ruined.
Rating: - Absolutely dreadful
I had high hopes for this and was quite excited about it. However, like the other negative reviews say here, STAY AWAY from it. It's an expensive piece of rubbish that makes scratched discs even worse - or rather useless.
I'm angry at the company who made this for selling such a terrible item.
It really is THAT bad. Please believe me.
Rating: - Works perfectly.
I decided to get one of these to try and fix an Xbox 360 game that was playing up; not loading stuff properly.
I followed the instructions carefully to make sure I wasn't going to make a mess of a £40 game and it worked perfectly.
You spray the disc with the included distilled water, use the Skip Doctor to clean one revolution of the disc and then repeat. You dry the disc with a provided cloth then buff with another. It's really simple and takes about 2 minutes.
It works by VERY GENTLY wearing away the disc to eliminate scratches so it does leave marks on the disc but these IN NO WAY affect the disc at all. They are worrying at first if you don't know how the thing works but trust me, they're nothing to worry about.
I don't understand why people say it doesn't work; they mustn't be following the instructions properly. There's absolutely no way a company would put a product on sale that damages discs when it claims to restore them.
If you've got damaged discs and don't want to buy new ones (who would) then this is is perfect for restoring them. Ignore all the reviews saying it's useless because it just isn't.

I have had this product for sometime now but i have never had the need to use it, until now. One of my Xbox 360 games was giving me dirty disk errors and also incorrectly thinking it was a DVD instead of a Game, i used this product hoping it would eliminate the problem so i could play the game properly, alas this did more damage than good. This item does NOT do what it says, i had very minor scratches to this game disc and now it is riddled with thousands of tiny ones. The disc will now not read at all.
Bad Product
Bad Design
Great if you wanna waste money though, will eat your CD/DVD collection so you can buy them all again!
