Sony MDR-V300 Headphones with Neodymium Magnet - Folding Design
Rating: - Cool cans man!
OK, lets not get carried away everyone; these headphones are not the best you’re ever going to buy! But, for £13 they are such good value! The sound from them is really pleasing – albeit a bit overblown on the bass front which is a bit in your face, but hey, they’re marketed as DJ headphones what do you expect. I like them, a lot! I bought 2 pairs of them for a portable DVD player for the car for the kids, but I have to admit I’ve really enjoyed listening to them. The sound is not offensive in any way; it is presented in a ‘modern fashion’ that would suit anyone using them for an MP3 player or the like. They are comfortable too, but after an hour I did need a bit of a rest. For £13 what can I say apart from buy them, they really are a bargain! Good on you Amazon!
Rating: - MDR-V300 Headphones
Just thought i'd add that these headphones are great value for the price. The other reviews are pretty much spot on here, and the bass is really good.
A great buy if you're looking for some quality headphones without a large pricetag.
Rating: - Excellent quality, but a pain for big heads.
These headphones, especially considering their ultra low price are of astonishing quality. The quality is crisp, and picks up sections in songs that I have never noticed before, especially bass parts, they give a whole new outlook on every song you have only heard before on average quality speakers/headphones.
That aside though, I did find that after 1/2 hour or so of constant use, they really started to hurt my ears, because they are very tight, I would then have to take them off, and massage my ears for a bit.
All in all, if you have had this pain with other headphones, these probably aren't for you, just as I decided they weren't for me, but otherwise these are pretty much the cheapest and best quality headphones around.
Rating: - Great headphones
These headphones are great value at around £15 and give good sound. The only small problems are that my ears get a bit irritated after weaing it for a while.
Rating: - you like bass?
I bought these a while back, & thought I would share my thoughts.
Now firstly bear in mind that these cans are only £15 (at time of writing) so sound quality is not amazing. But in comparison to the little tinny in ear doodads that are given away with portable music players these days they are a thousand times better.
The first thing you notice is the bass. These cans have lots of it. And can handle much more. I primarily use them with my Sony Walkman WM-EX674 (tape, which happens to match them perfectly being from the same range & year) & they are a perfect match. When I crank up the bass by activating 'revitalise' mode, they don't distort in any way, & they can even handle more in 'mega bass' & even 'groove' mode. No other cans I have ever used could go above half volume with equalisations engaged without distorting out in the lower frequencies, but these handle it with a flair. Mid-range & treble responses are okay, but nothing too special. With smaller twiddly little headphones you will notice sharper trebles, especially if you have the bass turned up drowning it out on the V300s.
For full headphones they are quite nicley compact. The folding design comes in quite handy when throwing them in your schoolbag, & also means that the headband is less likely to break, because instead of bending it, the cans just fold inside it. However be warned that being 'studio monitor' cans they do have a 3m cable, which is also very thick (& hence high quality) so if you use these on the move you will end up with a big bundle of cable (bigger than an ipod shuffle) in your pocket.
The 3.5mm to 6mm adaptor is quite neat, because it screws onto the 3.5mm for extra security, another nice little touch.
So if you like your bass, buy these. For £15 you won't get any better.
