Rating: - Not made to last
Dispite boasting that the Rio Cassette adapter allows you to listen to your Diamond Rio player anywhere, it never actually tells you how long it will last. I've had mine now for around 6 months and the sound quality has been getting progressively worse over the last month. I find now that it actually won't work at all in the car without bending the cable back on itself over the jack and keeping it in place with an elastic band - not exactly what you'd call state of the art. I'd estimate, from the cheap materials used to make the Rio Cassette adaptor, it probably costs around £1 to make, so for me the...price was definately not worth it.

Rating: - Unbeatable bargain
I'm totally delighted with this. For the price this is a fantastic gizmo, no problems with sound quality (price accepted).

A lot cheaper than fitting a CD unit to your car and thus a useful stop-gap.

Rating: - Impressive - and it's not just for MP3 either...
These things are getting increasingly hard to find. In essence, it's a cassette shell with a magnetic head mounted in it, connected to a wire with an ordinary jack plug on the end. This means it'll work with anything with a headphone socket, which is very useful, because it means I can also run my portable CD player through the car cassette as well as my MP3. The sound quality's very good, even on my ancient '80's car radio, although you have to keep both the adaptor's head and the one in the cassette deck clean to get the best out of it. It sounds crisp and weighty, and the only gripe is that the wire is a bit thin and flimsy; still, it needs to be to fit into the cassette deck.
This is a good buy if you want to get MP3, CD or even a Playstation's sound through your car speakers. It's not the cheapest of these adaptors around, but the better quality of this one is well worth the money.

i bought one of these a few weeks ago and since then have had a nice crisp sound comin from my car stereo, the perfect accesory to complement the rio's performance it is well worth the buy. although you can find cheaper versions i doubt they will sound as good.
