I previously used a Garmin but it seems like TomTom has taken over in ease and functionality. The product is has probably too many features which could make it difficult to locate the basic menus you are looking for. The backup and restore functionality did not work for me. My wife uploaded all our POI of our friends etc, which took her some time. I then made a backup to ensure she did not have to do it again. I used the device a couple of days when it all of a sudden decided to froze, I had to hit the reset button which caused all the settings to be lost, but I did not worry as I made a backup. The only issue is the restore did not keep any of the POI or other settings I made on the device, it took it back to the factory default. I was quite disappointed by this, other than that the product is great Rating: - Deceptively Simple and Highly EffectiveI have previously owned a Tom Tom go and sometimes found it to be a bit reluctant to find a satelite connection for the first 5 minutes of starting driving. This latest offering has found a signal immediately every time I have used it. The directions are clear and I have been able to find my destination easily each time. I have found it to struggle with my Scottish accent when it comes to voice commands, which is why I have given it 4 stars. For example it has never yet recognised Portsmouth. It does however recognise other destinations. I have no problems using the touch screen for directions. The display is clear and easy to see and the pictures when coming up to motorway junctions are outstanding.
