The data transfer performance is excellent, it allows the camera to run at full speed in RAW mode (12mp!!!) and gives me 300 raw frames or 700 large jpegs. It also came with a card reader, which is vital for these new SDHC cards (standard readers can't read them) so I saved lots of money not having to buy a card reader. There is very little difference in the use I put it to, so over double the price for the newer version just aint worth it in my mind.
