Rating: - Best disk repairer I use a lot!
Just a quick review. This product is good, not great, but it is the best manual disk repairer on the market.
I've got three others including the more up to date version of this product (also from Digital innovations) none are as good at deep scratches as this one.
It's rare to find now, so my advise if you see it on sale and you need a lost of disks repaired, get it. Also I would say, try the toothpaste option ONLY on disks that are entirely ruined.
Also the disk holder is very tight and can be tricky to release disks, if this happens squeeze the catches HARD even if you break one, it will still work. (Try not to break two though as it need only two to grip the disk)
Rating: - Excellent Product.....Just Like RONSEAL
I've had this equipment now for 3 years and it has only failed me once, when I tried a mini dics and got jammed. Apart from that
It's just like Ronseal.....
Rating: - Not sure about doctor, but skip is a good word!
I'm in two minds about this product. It's sturdy enough; you don't feel it's going to fall apart at any second... I just don't think it's very good.
The "resurfacing" fluid is filtered water, and simply stops the rubberised ring from causing friction damage to either it or the disc.
I've had this over a year now, and I've used it once only. I put the disc in, did what it said and ended up with a disc covered in strange marks. When I tried to remove the disc, the holder was so tight the disc snapped in half as I tried to remove it. Now I'm terrified to use it again in case I break another disc.
I contact the company at the time. They couldn't explain the disc snapping, but thought I had a faulty polishing wheel, so sent me two new ones. At least they had decent customer service.
Over all, knowing what I know now, I don't think I'd buy another one, or use it on a disc unless there was NO other option. In theory, if you look after your discs properly, then you should never even need anything like this. If accidents happen and the disc gets damaged, if it's anything more than a slight scoring on the surface of the disc, this won't work; it's just not up to handling actual scratches.
Rating: - It worked for me
When I first tried this thing I was a bit sceptical. It made a cheesy plastic sqeaking sound when I turned the handle but to my surprise it's fixed three scratched DVDs that were headed for the bin.
Rating: - Pretty Good
Bought this after I scratched a PS2 disc. put it through the machine once and it came out fine. I had tried toothpaste and some polish before but they hadn't worked. The actual machine itself wasn't too difficult to use, some of the catches were a little bit stiff but after a little while it all worked great. One thing that I thought was a little silly was the "resurfacing fluid", its basically distilled water but don't worry folks! the kind folks over at digital rivers will sell you more!
Over all this was a good buy for me and has paid for itself already in terms of replacement discs
