Note that NTL remotes dont work on these transmitters but as you can program your tv shows to automatically tune to the next one if you wanna spend a whole day in bed then queue up all your programs and lay back and relax! Now all i need is a very very good price on a (used fine) VL1205! Rating: - You know what to expect if you are buying an extra box!Let's be honest, this review is for an additional receiver. Therefore, chances are you've already bought the 1200 base unit and receiver! If not, no point in considering this..... Everyone who complains about the microwave interference, it states this in the instruction manual with the base unit AND this additional receiver! Personally, I can more than live with 60 seconds of minor visual interference whilst my dinner is reheated. I have now added an additional receiver in the kitchen, to the one that is already attached to my bedroom portable TV. Excellent value for money, SKY remote control works in both receiver locations with no problems. Saves having the hassle and unsightliness of cables running all through the house. Would recommend to anyone who wants to view their SKY box or DVD player from the comfort of their bed at night, or whilst you are through in the kitchen! Great, simplistic invention. Rating:  - Too Many interferanceIf you have anything wireless in your house, I WILL ADVICE AGAINST USING THIS DEVICE!! I have bluetooth and wireless network and all these devices will need to be turned off for you to have a clear sound and vision. This is in addition to the irritation from Microwaves!!! Rating: - Interference problemsThis is an excellent product and I find it very useful. The only down side that I have experienced is that every time a microwave oven is used either in my own house or anywhere near (up to two houses away) it interferes with the sound and picture. Remote controls generally work, but the one for the humax digital satellite reciever I have doesn't, although all the sound and picture quality is excellent. All in all and excellent buy even with its small problems. Rating: - Excellent way of watching cable & DVD around the houseAt home, having ITV Digital (now Freeview), Norwegian Satelite TV for my wife AND DVD and video boxes, while in the lounge I could watch all manner of things. However the two portable TV's in other rooms could only get rather fuzzy signals from an indoor aerial each. Enter the Philips SBC VL1200 set and VL1205 Extra Receiver. Running your video sources through the transmitter and connecting the two receiver boxes to the portables gives picture quality and choice unheard of before. If you've seen these and thought 'I bet they aren't that good', think again, the picture quality apart from being slightly on the 'rich' side (slightly redder than normal TV, but you can adjust this on most TV's) is excellent. There seems to be no interference, ghosting or any signal degredation. If you want to try, you can even change channels from upstairs using the IR extender, but I haven't bothered with that. That's about it really, they 'do what it says on the box' and do it well. So if you fancy watching something other than terrestrial 5 channels on your bedroom portable and don't already have a cable or satellite feed, look no further than this.
