I can not vouch for the long term reliability of these headphones but they seem every bit as good as the Pioneer at a fraction of the cost. They are very comfortable (they adjust) and convenient to use and I have no complaints about quality even listening in a home hi fi environment. For DJ use these are the best value for money headphones that I have owned. Rating: - These Headphones are Heaven!!I initially thought I would but a MDRV300 but ended up being gifted a MDRV500. These headphones are way way better than the V300. They Rock !! I have noticed notes in songs which I never really heard before. The Bass is just perfect - very refined and not raw. I have tried playing notes as high as possible but these headphones have never let me down. Every sound plays crystal clear . Also the band is very comfortable and light and the rotating ears give you the flexibilty of listening to music with one ear if needed. Pros: Awesome sound , good acostics , light weight Cons : You get get them off once you wear them :) Value for money : Definitly !! Rating: - SurvivorsAs pretty much every reviewer says, these are great headphones. They would be a good buy at £60, and you can now get them for less than £40. I bought mine five years ago and they still rock - the pivots are way looser than when new, but that was always going to happen, but everything else is as new. Great sound, great sound insulation, very comfortable. Apart from splashing £150 on Bose, these ARE the headphones you want to buy. Rating: - AstoundingWhen i got these headphones this morning i thought i was still dreaming. Their looks are sleek and minimalistic, whereas the sound is a far cry from that. After i had got over the cool folding mechanism and adjusted them to fit my head i plugged them into my headphone amp and was blown away. Truly astounding crisp highs and floor crunching bass. i cant reccomend these headphones any more highly than i am, for the price and even for £20 more you wont find a better set of headphones both in terms of looks, feel and quality, needless to say im enjoying them greatly. Rating:  - DON'T BUY SONY! - LOOK ELSEWHERE!I rang Sony recently to tell them how unhappy I was with these headphones and for help in finding someone who could repair them. It seems that there is a break in the connection to the right ear. I was told to throw the headphones in a bin because they would be too costly to repair. I have owned a set of these headphones for just over a year. During 2007 they were only used in my home, by me, to listen to music when sitting at the computer or when listening to music, sitting on a sofa connected to my I-pod while my partner watched boring TV. The point I wish to make is that these headphones have only been used occasionally, used only by me, in a clean and calm situation, yet they have failed! Sold for the DJ, I don't believe that these headphones are up to it! Sony says:- `built with high-end materials' & `these headphones fit the bill for a sound professional'. - My Arse! DON'T BUY SONY!
